Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Individuation — what the service is, what it is not, and the rules that apply when you use it.

UpdatedAugust 15, 2026

On this page

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Individuation: the website, the Reading Room, and the tools and content around them.

By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. If you are using it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.

We have kept them as short as an agreement of this kind can honestly be.

Who We Are

Individuation is an educational resource on the interpretation of dreams through depth psychology — the traditions of C. G. Jung and Sigmund Freud, alongside contemporary dream research. It offers a written method, a symbol vocabulary, a library of common and historic dreams, a practice game, and an AI-assisted reading room where you can bring a dream and receive an interpretation.

In these Terms, “we”, “our” and “us” mean the operator of Individuation, who is based in Georgia (Sakartvelo) — the country, not the U.S. state. “You” means the person using the service, wherever in the world you are.

Registration and Access

Most of the site can be used without an account. An account is optional, and its purpose is to save your dreams so that later readings can refer back to earlier ones.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under 18, use the service only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

If you create an account, give us an email address you actually control and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed it.

Using the Service

You may use Individuation for any lawful purpose, including study, teaching and your own dream work. What you may not do:

  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site, or use it to build a competing dataset or model;
  • circumvent rate limits, quotas, authentication or any other technical control;
  • attempt to extract system prompts, reverse engineer the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • submit content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • use the service to harass, deceive or harm another person, or to generate material that does so;
  • present AI-generated output as clinical, medical or professional advice, or as the work of a licensed practitioner;
  • resell or redistribute the service or its output as your own product.

We may impose reasonable limits on request volume to keep the service available to everyone.

Not Medical Advice

This is education, not treatment.

Individuation is an educational resource. It is not therapy, not diagnosis, and not medical, psychological or psychiatric advice. Using it does not create a therapeutic or professional relationship between you and us, and nothing it produces should be treated as clinical judgment or acted on in place of a qualified professional's care.

Dream work can surface difficult material. If a dream — or anything the service says about it — leaves you distressed, speak to a qualified mental-health professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country immediately. Do not rely on this service in an emergency.

Nothing here should be used to make decisions about your health, your medication, your relationships or any other significant matter without appropriate professional advice.

Your Content and AI Output

You keep whatever rights you already have in the dreams and messages you submit. We claim no ownership over them. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service: to transmit your text to the AI provider that generates the reading, to store it if you have chosen to save it, and to display it back to you.

You are responsible for what you submit — including having the right to submit it, and being mindful when a dream concerns other people.

As between you and us, you may use the interpretations you receive for your own lawful purposes.

AI output is probabilistic. It can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. Two people can receive similar readings, and the same dream can produce different readings on different days — in dream work that is not necessarily a defect, but it does mean the output is a prompt for reflection, not a verdict. Evaluate it yourself before relying on it for anything that matters.

Our Intellectual Property

The site itself — its written method, symbol entries, dream library, editorial text, design, code and name — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. Quotations from Jung, Freud and other authors remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used here for educational commentary.

You may read, cite and share the educational content with attribution and a link. You may not republish it wholesale, or use our name or branding in a way that suggests we endorse you. No rights are granted beyond those stated here.

Free and Paid Access

The service currently offers free access, subject to usage limits that keep it sustainable. We may introduce paid plans in future.

If we do, and you choose to buy one: you agree to provide accurate billing information and to authorize the recurring charges applicable to your plan; fees are stated at the point of purchase and are not refundable except where the law requires; and we will give reasonable notice before any price change takes effect for a future billing period. Failure to complete payment may result in a downgrade or in suspension of paid features. Nothing in this section obliges you to pay for anything you have not bought.

Termination and Suspension

You may stop using the service at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account whenever you like.

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use creates a genuine security, legal or operational risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond through the contact page.

Changes to Service and Terms

We may add, change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature you have already paid for, we will give reasonable notice and handle any prepaid amount as the law requires.

We may also revise these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice. If you continue using the service after a revision takes effect, you accept it.

Warranties and Liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that any interpretation will be accurate, useful or suited to your circumstances, or that defects will be corrected.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for any loss of profits, goodwill, data or use, arising out of or relating to the service — even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or USD 100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limitation applies only to the extent permitted.

Indemnity

If you use the service on behalf of a business or organization, that organization agrees to indemnify and hold harmless us, our affiliates and our personnel against third-party claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs arising out of its use of the service, the content it submits, or its breach of these Terms — to the extent permitted by law.

Disputes and Governing Law

If something goes wrong, contact us first through the contact page. Almost everything is resolved faster informally, and we ask that you give us at least 30 days to try before starting formal proceedings.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (Sakartvelo) — the country in the South Caucasus, not the U.S. state of the same name — without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Tbilisi, Georgia have jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved informally.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings where the law of that country allows. Any claim must be brought individually; class or representative proceedings are not available, to the extent the law permits that limitation.

General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.

You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. There are no third-party beneficiaries.

You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws when using the service.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service, and replace any earlier understanding on the subject.
